TD's Adventure - Explained
Yay! I knew that the core of Line Rider would stay the same. The new features sound amazing and I am very much anticipating the release of this version of Line Rider. Any way you could give us a hint on the release date TD?
Sometime in 2008 is as specific as I can go
i have had knots in my stomach ever since i saw the video, and it only made me want it more when i heard that it was hours of work put into it, at this point, i dont care if it costs 75$, cuz thats how much i have. xD im holding it until this comes out!
OMFGROTFLOL! I CANT WAIT!

I'm definitely gonna buy it for my PC. It looks great, but I do still have one unanswered question.
Many people have said that you can directly add the scenery in, but did you have to (completely) draw that bridge and the mountains?
In that particular video everything, and i mean, every little tiny thing was drawn by hand by TechDawg. (pretty amazing if you ask me)
I wonder why more people haven't posted here...
This takes a load off my mind! Thanks for the detailed reassurance I was hopping for TD.
Although, I miss the limitations Beta 2 has, because theres more room for being creative! Im talking about making mount rushmore with horizontal lines! and blowing peoples minds with how unexpectingly appealing black lines can be!
I know you know what I mean, But I'll take your word for it that it won't be dissapointing.
Thanks TechDawg and Andrei
ok, i have a few questions:
•about how confusing is it to work the future version? if there are too many buttons that kinda of rules me out. heh heh
• will it be available for macs as well?
• an estimate of how much it will eventually cost?
P.S. TechDawg, you are a BEAST at this. great job!
My expression to the video:

My expression to the video:
- It is less confusing than the flash version
mmmmmm I have a question!
How much will the game approximately cost? I don't mind what price it will be, but its good to have a rugh estimate, so I know approximately how much I need to save!
And could you put up estimate prices in dollars and in pounds? because I am english!
And this version won't be available to play online, like how it is now?
The PC version is just that, a purchasable version you can install on your PC. I don't know about MAC, and I don't know how much it will be. I also don't know if there will be an option to purchase online (download).
Ok, i have some questions. I would be apprieciated if anyone could answer really.
1. First off, this game was made from SCRATCH, right? not using any of the original line rider games.
2. I noticed that in TD's adventure, the physics of line rider are different. For Example, Line Rider's legs seem a bit more 'floppy' They are not a stabalized as in the orginal games.
3. So, there will be a color pallet to choose from the lines? (thats what i inquired) Like, you would draw a black line then make it fade by using other colors. Will there be any blur or blend tools? Fill Bucket?
4. Also, will you be able to add your own custom sound effects and music? like, download from freesoundeffects.com or something, then add them. (less of a hassle than WMM)
5.Will edited tracks (like, in beta 2 were line rider would click a switch by mashing 2 clips together) be possible? would it be the same as beta 2, easier? harder?
6. Are there alternate ending to have? like, have him fall of his sled at the end or something? this really isnt that important, just like to know.
So, Thats it.
Obviously, no one really will be able answer ALL of the questions, but, again, I would apprieciate it if someone could answer it.
Thanks!

This new version looks Shizzletastik. But I do feel like it might be "Taking Away" from the "Magic" of Linerider. I mean, what happened to drawing a line with a pencil and watching a man on a sled ride on it? This is just taking away from a completely awesome game.

As our faithful leader and Producer, Chris Keenan has posted, in the Announcements Section, a fairly detailed and enlightening explanation of what you saw in the movie 'TD's Adventure'. To pull it all together, I've compiled a list of 'Answers' to many of the questions and concerns you've been so vocal about thus far. So.. here goes!
NOTE: These are explanations on features in a game that is still in development, therefor everything is subject to change.
1.) The 'Basics of the 'Beta' Versions of Line Rider are still there, and you can, in fact, make a track that would look basically like anything you can do now in Beta2.
2.) The movie 'TD's Adventure' has been created in a completely new (Work in Progress) version of Line Rider, it will not be Beta 2 rev7, or rev6.3. There may be updates to the online Flash version of Line Rider which will continue the Beta2 numbering scheme, but this version is a seperate entity, and is not coded in Flash.
3.) The Physics of the new Line Rider are basically the same as what you are used to in the Beta2 (Flash) versions of Line Rider.
• You can still to Gravity Wells, Quirks, Nose Manuals, and all the other 'line physics' tricks you are used to.
4.) The SCENERY in 'TD's Adventure' IS NOT automatically Generated, rather it is completely unigue, and all (including the mountains in the background) Drawn by the individual making the track (In this example, by TechDawg).
• All of the regular 'Lines' are still there, even in this finished movie, but are hard to make out, as most of them are white, and blend in with colored objects in the background layers, or covered up by objects of another color in foreground layers.
• The 'sky' textured background you see is also a user settable option, meaning it can be either present or you can have your 'comfortable' blank white if you so choose (as least at present, this may change, as the game is not yet final)
5.) The 'Tricks' You see in this new version are OPTIONAL. At present, you can choose from a preset 'Bank' of 'Rider Tricks', place them inline with your track, or choose NOT to use them. The DO, however, affect the 'physics' of the ride, so it is difficult to add them 'after' creating the ridden lines.
6.) The Sound in this Movie is one of several (currently included) Background Tracks. The sound does NOT have to be included, (Including the Rider reactions, if you so choose to mute). OR, you can change the soundtrack, based on what YOU would like to include, as a user selection in the options menu.
7.) As already eluded to, there are different 'Line Colors' to work with in this version. Of course there is Black, but as you can see there are other shades to work with, if you so choose.
8.) In Addition to the Color Choices, thare are additional 'New' Line types, which I will not go into, but continue to be added to and updated, as things in this Game are evolving constantly.
9.) Rider Re-mounting of the Sled is not an 'every time / automatic' feature. It's much like a G-Well, there is some 'prodding' you can do to get it to happen, but it isn't going to happen every time the Rider falls off the sled.. rather, only when the circumstances are favorable for reaquiring, does it occur.
NOTE HERE: The Core that is Line Rider, however, is and will always be there under all the 'eye candy'. You need to look at it like your getting what you know and love, with the 'extra options' checklist all filled in as well.
You can't choose what LIFE is going to 'THROW' at you. You CAN, however, choose what to "THROW BACK!'
