TD's Adventure
Wow! This is GREAT! I want you and inXile to keep working on this FULL FORCE. You guys need to take the current revolution of Line Rider, crush it into little tiny pieces, bury it, preform a ritual and resurect it from the dead, mutilate it, and then take those parts and make an awesome new version!

The scenery making in this new version seems to have been the main focus. This new version looks like a great way to bring out the artistic side of Line Rider, that is, if the user makes the scenery him/herself.
I noticed the background scenery (the distant mountains and blue sky), does the user create that himself? Or is it an option you choose? Cause I personally think that if it was a set background, it might take away some of the total customization of scening away from playing LR. But if it's completely customizable where you can draw it yourself, then it may be a plus.
Also, it looked kind of strange having a two-dimensional character riding in a three dimensional scene... The LR guy needs some upgrades
The sound affects were sort of cool, but they weren't brought up well.. It made it feel more like I was watching a cartoon rather than someone's track.
As iBagel said, the tricks in this game are not nearly the same as the old version. It seemed more like... a video game, in a way, like your watching someone controlling the rider to the finish line..
Even though this new version wants to push the "create your own world" part of Line Rider, there doesn't seem to be much appeal in the trick making.. It seems that all the tricks are is the LR guy playing around with his sled in mid-air, or doing a nose manual on the snow. There needs to be more of a surprise affect to the game, in my opinion.
Going back to the flash version of Line Rider, I remember watching TechDawg Labs, TD & Son Inc., and A Dawg's Son when I first got interested in the game. There was this affect when first watching the vid of "oh, what's the LR dude gunna do next!", always keeping me on the edge of my seat
. If there was a way of putting that affect into this new version, it would definitely make the trick factor more exciting.
Overall, the game looks OK, in my opinion, nothing great, but has potential. It just needs some work towards the trick factor and better customization of the course (assuming, judging by what I saw, that there is limited you can add to the track, scening wise. I could be completely wrong.). There needs have more of a feel that your watching someone's track, rather than watching some sort of cartoon or computer game. It needs... more of a spark.
Yeah, I kinda think its cool, but I think I liked it when it was a little more simplistic, this takes all the tradition out of it, cuz the track wasnt amazing, and you cant rele judge the scenery anymore, so for me its kinda a let down...(mostly cuz I'm a scenery type of guy)
Wow, the official forums are nuts!
It is too game-like now. Not the fun, do it yourself stuff I like. There are no real "lines" now. tricks is no fun too. I like doing quirks, and having to make my tricks. It is how linerider SHOULD be. This is like releasing an entirely new game, without the same concept as the other.
The scenery isn't black and white anymore. Black and white is what makes linerider... linerider. It doesn't seem right.
Getting off and back on your sled? WORST idea ever. Falling off the sled was made for a reason. So he would fall. Not get back on.
Why does he move so weird? His legs bump, and he moves around on his sled. It really doesn't look that great.
So yeah. Why can't it just be like normal? It is like a totally different game! As I said on the movie, though, if you can sell it with 6.2 bundled with it, so you can choose which to play at the start(classic or new), I think it would be much nicer.

i completely agree.
it has potential but track making and tricks dont look as good.
its cool how lr can do tricks with sled, but i doubt the user does that by using a certain line. so its not even like u made it did that.
also i dont really like the scenery thing.
for people that are into lr i think they wont like the scenery thing because it will get boring after watching lots of vids with the same background and mountain-like scenery.
i think it might take away the skill aspect for tricks and scenery. and it does this. i might have to quit lr.
and i dont want to do that, i would probably stick with beta 2
The track was awesome!!
A few things:
The shading was nice, it looked like u used thick lines and colored them.
I saw this for the drop shading you did so well. I always draw some single lines to draw drop shading and a lot of people said, that it is my best scenery ability
. I hope it will be as easy as it looks in your video.
The 3 d thing is awesome. There will be soo much new things possible, which were not able to be done in 6.2 .
I hope you will not let us wait too long for this =P.

Tell us, TD, do the sound effects get annoying?
No, I haven't found that to be the case at all. I'm a bit of a goof, mind you, so I get a kick out of it. Mind you, at present, you can opt to turn off the 'rider sound effects', OR import your own to replace the stock effects.
ALWAYS REMEMBER: This is an UNRELEASED Work in Progress, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO EVOLVE IN DIRECTIONS UNKNOWN.
So the PC version of the game will be bought in a store? I'm going to assume it's not a flash version.
The PC Version is as you have concluded, a purchasable version you would 'install' on your PC. It is NOT coded in Flash. As for MAC, or whether it will be purchasable online (downloadable) I have no clue or insight into those plans.
I think that they will take money... I would buy it. They really deserved it and the new PC version is so awesome.
I was so glad when i heared, that we are still able to create G-Wells and flings.
One question: I saw a trick were he hold his sled with one hand away from him.
It would be awesome if we could add a G-Well Chain when he holds his sled in his hands. (omg this would be ubercool)

As you won't have had access to trying this version yourself, I'd love to hear some comments and feedback to what you (hopefully) have now seen in the movie on the front page of this site!
I don't like to 'toot' my own horn, so I won't comment on my take, but as for the possibilities on the horizon for Line Rider™, my excitment is bursting at the seems!
What do you see? What did you like? What didn't you like? What do you have questions about? (Note: Answers may be vague depending on the question
)

You can't choose what LIFE is going to 'THROW' at you. You CAN, however, choose what to "THROW BACK!'
