The Site Layout, what's here, and whats on your mind
Well, it seems MOST complaints are about the LOOKS of the forum, whih can be easily changed. Drupal seems to have some little things that it COULD use, but we can live without those things. Once all the little kinks are worked out of the site, the amount of suggestions should greatly decrease, and most people should be happy with the forum.
Thanks for the info TD

I'm just getting sick of the, "We need a rep system!" I mean, that was probably the biggest issue of IRtL compared to .org. I think the site is really fine for now, sure it can be improved, but for now I love it! Thanks for the insight Techdawg!
Drupal is a nice comfty system. It really goes with the site template/layout.
Drupal seems to fit perfectly into the sites system since it's small and keeps a small amount of space. I say Drupal is good since the whole point isn't really about the forum but it's technically about how good the game goes and as long as the forum works.
There's a tone this the forum that makes me feel comfty.
i dont know if im in the right spot but,
i think the background should be shanged to light blue,
or at least when you play linerider on this site,
because you never see where it stops when you have to make a long line or something, maby add a border around it?
thanks for the info td,
i think that the site doesn't really need a rep system. or at least not now.
i think that instead of scrolling down one huge page of posts in a thread. make it have pages. because it is very irksome to have to scroll all the way to the bottom to post, or to scroll all the way back up to click and go to the forum page.
also navigation could be tweaked. i think that if you could have the ability to go back to the forum section that you are in from a thread would be very helpful instead of having to click forum, then go to the section again.
it would be quite helpful.
thats all i have for now:)
i think we should have more customization, ATM all you can change is Avatar, and Sig, i want a deeper customizable forum, IDK what you cant add, but i think it would be awesome if you could make it more so than IRtL and .org colored text is a start, then usertitle maybe, then colored BG on your text?
make your profile more myspace-y, be able to add backrounds, or embed vids in your profile from other websites!
those are my suggestions.
please consider.
i think it's looking pretty nice, but one thing that would improve the forum, would be like on zadarider.com how at the top, its the top 10 most recent topics posted in, the top posters, and new members and such? anyone agree with this idea?
Help! All my save files got corrupted! Hacker? I don't think so. I didn't have an account when my saves got corrupted. In fact, they got corrupted as soon as the new site opened. Hmmm... coincidence? I don't think so.
Can you please try to change them back to normal please please?
Your Saves could be in any of up to 10 folders..
each with the mulitple possible combinations of the sites url.
ie: linerider.com officiallinerider.com official-linerider.com etc.. with or without www's. Basically, I'm stating that you need to be at the same URL you've played from previously in order for your saves to show up.
this place is fine but i would love to see an simpler way to upload tracks than
capture the screen footage then convert it so youtube or your host site could accept it then post it here. if you could cut the middle man ie. (youtube and digg) it would increase content upload.
I like the overall design of the site, and the forums. It would be cool if it was easier to navigate, like a line near the top of the page showing the subsection you're in... like this thread would be:
"Linerider.com > Forums > Features and Suggestions > The Site Layout..."
With each location hyperlinked to get back to certain sections a bit faster... I bet there was a better way to explain that, but meh xD

Parent Forums would be the name. :)

i don't get how a video that is nothing interactive but watching have something to do with riding it. it gets weird when it used window movie maker on it.
could someone explain the ride concept is it here so we have to imagine our selves going through the course or place there because of the next year line rider track player function?

keep up the good work.

I would like to address, in one centralized location, a number of the concerns, and also the multitude of requests for the format of this site to be converted to vBulletin from it's current state.
The likelihood of the Official site converting the vB is extremely low. vBulletin was discussed at the onset, and the decision was made to stick with Drupal. There are a number of factors that predicated this decision that reach farther than just the Forum's functionality. Drupal is a highly customizable and feature rich environment revolving around 'Communities' with the 'forum' module being just one small element. The rest of the site, including future plans, were and are built around Drupal, so the choices were to try to integrate vBulletin into the existing Drupal environment, or to use the limited Forum Module already available, and customize it to our needs.
The integration of vBulletin would have posed a number of other problems, including content management, movie section, and a number of other features (of which I'm not at liberty to go in to atm) which would require the ability to carry user information across platforms, etc..
My suggestion is that everyone just 'Hang tight' for a couple of weeks or so, and reserve the right to pass judgment at a later date. There are things in the works that will be coming down the pike that just will not be available anywhere else but here.
Making a big 'ta-do' about the site right now only brings a negativity to the field that is both unfounded, and unwarranted in light of the sites age, the status of the release of the new games, and in general the unavailability of real insight into what's to come.
My suggestion is to take a good hard look at the 'features' you most enjoy, not 'generalities' but rather specific features that you have become accustomed to, that you expect and that you truly feel are important enough to ensure a satisfying experience. Take then, these well thought items, and put them into the virtual 'suggestion box', and know that all of the suggestions are being considered and weighed against there feasibility, their importance and their impact on the site as a whole.
The more 'well-thought' and reasoned suggestions, that contain both an informative description of the specific feature and hold a modicum of merit in the arguments for including them, that are received, the higher the possibility exists that these things could be included.
So, instead of making complaints, take action, and perhaps the old adage, "Ask and ye shall receive", could in fact be true.
You can't choose what LIFE is going to 'THROW' at you. You CAN, however, choose what to "THROW BACK!'
