LineRider.com Rules EXPLAINED
- No double posting (creating the same topic in multiple forums)- This is a mega problem that I see all too often. Please do not double post. Even if your computer is slow, just wait 10 seconds for the thread to load. There are two types of double posting, which I will explain:
- Double posting: This situation is when a member of the site post multiple times in a row in order to add on information to the above post, or to bump the thread back to the top of the page. Double posting is annoying, and will not get you any respect on this site. If you find that you need to add information into your previous post, then please click the "Edit" button found at the bottom right of your comment. It is not a hard thing to do, and will earn you much respect.
- Double thread posting: This is when a member makes a thread and no one responds for a certain amount of time, so they remake the exact same thread. Trust us, your thread will get answered! Sometimes, people may not see your thread, or may even be typing a comment in your thread! I as long as many other members are trying very hard to help everyone on here, and I hope that no thread goes unanswered. However, it is sometimes annoying to have to answer the same question twice. If we do happen to notice that you have done this, the appropriate thread will be deleted.
Just to add to what you said about double posting in the same thread, this is an acceptable thing to do if you are trying to quote more than one person about different things - i.e. if you are having two conversations in the same thread.
*Just noticed this got bumped*
Yes, but you can just make seperate Quote tags.
Making separate quotes is not always easy - especially if you're replying to two completely different things, and also since this forum does not currently have a "multi-quote" link. But it's not a big deal either way, as long as you're not spamming
The Rules and Guidelines have been updated since this post was made. The new items consist of:
- No linking to other Line Rider forums - This is basically the same as the "No advertising" rule, but is stated here again for clarity. Please read RidintheLines' description of the "No advertising" rule for further info on this.
- No linking to or promoting of unauthorized versions of Line Rider - This basically means no showing off ANY other versions of Line Rider. This includes versions that are hacks, mods, older versions, downloadable versions, or anything NOT hosted on the official Line Rider site here. Basically, if you are going to cause people to avoid playing the game online on the official site, DON'T DO IT. Now, having said that, if you happen to find your own way to do that, we can't stop you, and we wouldn't want to anyways. We WANT you to enjoy playing Line Rider. We just have to protect the game because we're putting so much behind it.
- No linking to other Line Rider forums - This is basically the same as the "No advertising" rule, but is stated here again for clarity. Please read RidintheLines' description of the "No advertising" rule for further info on this.
Does that include ALL links (e.g. links to tutorials on IRTL/.org) or just links like "Go to this other forum, it's better"?
As stated in RidintheLines' description of the "No advertising" rule, links to tutorials are okay, but at least make them be direct links. This is basically a rule for the "Go to this other forum, it's better" kind, as you said. Sometimes people will just not even say anything except leaving a link to another forum, or they will mention something about the other site and provide a link, in a way that they're trying to advertise yet sidestep the forum rule against that. Those are the kind of things this refers to

I just want to clear some things up on the rules today. To read the original rules, go >>>HERE<<<. Ok, so these are the original rules established by Andrei and InXile Entertainment:
- No racial/ethnic comments
- No cussing
- No trolling
- No spamming
- No life threats
- No advertising
- No impersonations of Inxile Employees
- No double posting (creating the same topic in multiple forums)
- Please use appropriate forum for your posts. Suggestions go into the Suggestions forum, Wii questions go into Wii forum etc.
What do these mean you may wonder? Well, I am about the expain it! So many times I see things in the wrong section, spam, etc. So, here you go:
No racial/ethnic comments- What does making a racial/ethnic mark actually mean? Well, it means that we do not want any discussion about religion or the color of your skin! If you are white, then your are white, if you are black, then you are black, but it does not need to be brought up on the site! If you would like to discuss the issue with a member, please contact them with AIM or e-mail, don't use this site for those kind of topics.
- No cussing- What makes a cuss word a cuss word? Well, I'm sure that we all know what words we do not need to be saying. But what words are on the line? Words like "crap" and "damn" do not need to be seen around this site. What you do with your time on other sites is beyond anyones care, but if you do that here it is unacceptable. You may have grown up thinking those words are fun and cool to use, but please refrain from using them. Remember, there are kids on this site who want to enjoy the great game of Line Rider as much as you do, so let's try to keep it G rated.
- No trolling- What does trolling mean? Well, trolling means bumping someone else's thread with a comment that has nothing to do with the thread. An example would be:
Member 1: How do I make backwards acceleration lines?
:P
:P
:P
Member 2: MY BIRTYDAY IS TOMORROW!
As you can clearly see, Guy 2 did not even try to answer the question, but instead hijacked the thread. If this happens, a 3rd Member may come up and say "Whoa, I wish my birthday was tomorrow!" and so on, it sometimes can continue and Member 1's question never gets answered! If you have a thought or comment that isn't Line Rider related, please create a thread in Off-Topic, there is no need to hijack threads.
- No spamming- Spamming is probably the biggest issue on most forums. What is Spam you might wonder? Well, you have probably seen it before. Spam is when someone post a comment that has no point. Such as creating a new thread and saying "wekjfdkjf." There is no reason to type a comment like that. If you are using a computer, then we suppose you can type and spell. So please, use those two abilities to your advantage!
- No life threats- This is a very big issue on the forums. As said before, there are a lot of kids on here, the last comment we need to see is "If you don't answer my question, I'll kill you!" We know you may think "Well, I'm just joking!" but how are we supposed to know when we are on the computer? Try to limit your sarcasm on the computer, as it is hard to define seriousness from sarcasm on internet forums.
- No advertising- No advertising? What the heck is that supposed to mean? Well, we mean please do not post links to websites so they can gather more members. Even if it is a Line Rider forums you are advertising, don't do it. This site is the official Line Rider site, and we really would like for it to stay that way. However, you are allowed to post links if someone ask "How do I manual" or a question like that, you may post a link to the appropriate tutorials. Just try not to show off your website while on this website.
- No impersonations of Inxile Employees- This should pretty much be a no-brainer. InXile is the company who owns Line Rider, and they have people working hard to keep the game (and this site) alive. Saying you are an employee of a company which you do not work for is annoying and immature. The InXile employee's have green names and an I tag next to their names, so don't even try to impersonate one of them.
- No double posting (creating the same topic in multiple forums)- This is a mega problem that I see all too often. Please do not double post. Even if your computer is slow, just wait 10 seconds for the thread to load. There are two types of double posting, which I will explain:
- Please use appropriate forum for your posts. Suggestions go into the Suggestions forum, Wii questions go into Wii forum etc.- This is not a hard thing to do. However, there is a difference between the "Help" forum and the "Discussion" forum! If you have a question about Line Rider for the Wii, then please post it in the Line Rider Wii Section! There should be no threads in Line Rider Wii Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials though! Because how can you make a tutorial for a game that isn't even out?
If you want to just talk about Line Rider, please post a comment in "General Discussion." If you want to talk non Line Rider related things, please post a comment in "Off-Topic." If you need help with playing Line Rider, please post it in "Game Help." If you need help with the forum, (Such as posting a smiley
) please post it in "Forum Help."
Well, those are the basic rules of the site, please be sure to read them about once or twice a month so you can stay in touch and update yourself so you don't miss anything! Have a nice day!
If you have any questions, please leave a comment or e-mail me at William41992@hotmail.com!
